MAGICAL WAYS TO CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN
Halloween is more of a season, than a single night!
It is a season to honor our dead, open our senses, & connect with our ancestors.
It is season of magic & divination; in which we look into ourselves & out to the future.
Halloween is a time for remembering our Beloved Dead;
Here are 5 simple ways to honor them-
DUMBSUPPER-Prepare a meal for your Beloved Dead, set a plate for your dead with all of the foods you think they will enjoy. Once the meal is prepared for the dead, everyone else gets their food. The meal is then eaten in silence, with living guests taking the quiet meal as a time to remember and communicate with their loved ones in thier mind.
ANCESTOR ALTAR-Set up an altar with photos and mementos of your Beloved Dead, light a candle at it each morning and sit for a few minutes in silent communication with your Spirits.
STORIES- Tell stories about your Beloved Dead, stories of who they were and what they loved, things they did and thier silly behaviors. Spirits love to be talked about!
GRAVEYARDS- Visit the graves of your Beloved Dead, clean up their stones, have a little picnic, or just visit. If your loved ones are not buried near you, visit a graveyard near by and find a good spot to sit and talk to your Spirits. Graveyards by nature are thin-places, where communication with our dead is easier.
RECIPES-Make their favorite recipes, and talk about them while we cook/bake. Food is a great way to teach our children about their ancestors.

The month of October exists in the Betwixt & Between.
The Betwixt & Between is a metephor for
existing outside of normal time and space.
We feel his liminalness in the late-rising dawns,
and in the long, stretched-out twilights.
In this energy we can feel stretched and ethereal,
as if we are existing inside of a dream.
In this dimness & shadow that our intuition does it's best!
The shadow of Halloween is the perfect time for
personal divination, and exploring one's shadow.
While cartomancy is primarily used to tap into our higher consciousness, prophesizing unknown events, we can also use cards to connect with our guides. In this manner we are asking our spirit guides to share messages with us through the cards. It is helpful when doing a reading of this manner to make an extra effort in creating sacred space; treating the experience as if we have a special guest coming for a visit. While we can perform this or any of the spreads whenever we wish, this type of reading is often easier for those new to spirit contact if performed at Halloween, as the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead are thinnest at this time. Halloween is a time in which we celebrate magic and those who associated with it. It's a time in which many people play with the persona of the witch...sometimes benevolent, sometimes not, with many a pointy hats to show for it!
In truth, Witches look like everyday people. They are school teachers and nurses, business owners, and artists, mothers, and fathers, old and young, female and male, and everything inbetween!
In truth Witches are regular, everyday people, who honor the earth and seek to develop their intuition and psychic awareness.
The way in which a Witch works their magic comes in many varieties, but all witches strive to become co-creators of their own lives.
